Security tooling is a demanding place to write software. The datasets are enormous and high-cardinality, the queries are exploratory rather than predictable, and the person on the other end is an analyst halfway through an investigation with no patience for a slow filter or an ambiguous chart.
Getting that right means caring about query shape on the backend and render performance on the frontend at the same time, which is why I've never been much good at staying on one side of the stack. Most of my work sits at the seam: making a Go service fast enough that the interface in front of it can stay honest about what's happening in the data.
Before security I spent three years in consumer-scale web engineering — Next.js and Node at BYJU'S Exam Prep, React and Flutter client work at Moonraft. I came into all of this from a mechanical engineering degree and taught myself the rest.
Rebuilt the backend of LinkShadow's threat investigation search layer in Go, using multiprocessing to cut response times on large telemetry datasets. Rewrote the interface to stream results in real time over web workers and sockets, so analysts see matches as they arrive instead of waiting on a complete result set.
Led the move of the product's legacy frontend to React, introducing Vite as the build tool. Ran both architectures in parallel through the transition so feature work never stopped, and designed the module structure the team builds on now.
Built the GitLab CI/CD pipelines and environment-specific builds the team ships through. Set up testing infrastructure, wrote the coverage that made refactoring safe, introduced linting and pre-commit hooks, and mentor the junior engineers on the team.
Integrated LLMs into the platform for real-time analyst interaction over socket connections, and built the API layer across Django and FastAPI that feeds it — including the performance work needed to keep high-volume data paths responsive.
